Going . . . going . . .
Parks Canada is working to remove the gumbo that we excavated from the Parking Lot Garden. All the pile should be gone by the end of Friday.
More Planting in Produce Garden
Trying to get the rest of our seeds planted now that we are finally through the Parking Lot Garden that took all of June.
We planted Scarlett Runner Beans in Beds 5-6.
We planted Beets in Beds 23-24.
We just have Beds 25-26 (turnips) and Beds 27-28 (cucumbers and sunflowers) to plant from scratch.
And we need to add some more squash into the corn beds to complete the Three Sisters.

Rosa spinosissima (Scots Rose)
The location of the donated Rosa spinosissima (Scots Rose).
From Anne of Green
Gables (1908) by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
See Rosa Spinosissima for further information.
"I took a slip
of the little white Scotch rose-bush his mother brought out from Scotland
long ago; Matthew always liked those roses the best - they were so small
and sweet on their thorny stems. It made me feel glad that I could plant
it by his grave - as if I were doing something that must please him in
taking it there to be near him. I hope he has roses like them in heaven.
Perhaps the souls of all those little white roses that he has loved so
many summers were all there to meet him".
See Rosa Spinosissima for further information.

Week of June 29 - the Plan
Finish and plant the Parking Lot Garden.
Move the remaining sod into Bed 29.
Plant the last six beds if it is not too late (Beds 23-28).
Weed. Water. Prune.
Summer is here. Back to three days a week starting next week.
Well - that's the plan . . .
